Contributing to food security through farm mechanisation

The Kenya Prison service is  a national key contributor to food security.Thus there is need to embrace modern farming techniques in rehabilitation programmes in the farm section the service endeavours to bolster food production and self sufficiency.
The chief guest  Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Interior and National Administration Hon (Prof) Kithure Kindiki,EGH officially commissioned the maize mill plant.He was elated by the great milestone achieved by KPS in rehabilitating the inmates and increasing revenue collection.He toured Naivasha  Maximum Prison and held a brief with the officers and addressed concerns raised by inmates  amongst them  revamping the Prison Enterprises.
The Commissioner General of Prisons committed to utilising the mill plant for value addition of our farm products and self sufficiency .He stated that by mechanising our farms the service will inject into the food security of the nation.
