Kenya Prisons Service Concludes Stakeholder Validation Workshop on Key Reform Policies
Kenya Prisons Service has concluded a four-day External Stakeholder Validation Workshop in collaboration with UNODC funded by European Union for seven draft policy documents aimed at strengthening governance, institutional integrity, humane prison practices, and prison reforms.
The workshop brought together Government institutions, civil society, the Prison Reform Working Group, development partners, and other stakeholders in a collaborative process that enriched the draft policies.
The workshop was officially closed by the Deputy Commissioner General of Prisons Technical, Madam Jane Kirii, EBS, who commended participants for their dedication and valuable contributions.
Remarks were also delivered by Dr. Njahira Karanja of UNODC, who emphasized the need to move from validation to action, and Rose Thuku of Nafsika Trust on behalf of the PRWG, who highlighted the importance of collaboration, inclusivity, and sustainability in implementation.
