• Allocate staff houses
• Organize for capacity building for staff in specialist areas.
• Organize and oversee recreation matters for both staff and inmates 
• Coordinate sporting activities
• Care of children below the age of 4 years accompanying their mothers
• Oversee rehabilitation programmes through offering formal education, Spiritual and psychological counselling to inmates.
• Coordinate provision of counselling and psycho-social support for staff
• Provide spiritual nourishment to staff and their families
• Manage Prisons resource centres. 
• Training of sports men/women
• Coordinate sporting activities in the services 
• Oversee rehabilitation and reintegration programs 
• Promote and coordinate creative arts
