Core Functions
To coordinate implementation of Prison reforms in liaison with DCGP Administration
To develop and implement Prison Reforms programme and work plan
To provide linkages between internal and external stakeholders on matters concerning reforms
To identify areas for review and emerging issues on prisons reforms
To report on the progress of implementation of prisons reforms
To monitor and evaluate implementation of Prison reforms
Oversee all matters pertaining to change of command in penal institutions
Inspect penal institutions
Gender mainstreaming
Formulate strategies and standard operating procedures for complaints management.
Oversee implementation of Public Service Integrity program(PSIP) in the Service
Receive and investigate complaints from members of the public, staff and prisoners and recommend action for consideration by the Commissioner General of Prisons.
Act on relevant correspondences from National Commission on Administrative Justice (NCAJ).
Mobilize resources through consultative relationships and collaborations with development partners
