• Implement policies on recruitment, training, promotion, discipline, deployment and transfer of uniformed personnel.
• Manage uniformed prison officers’ human resource planning and career succession management in line with Service regulations.
• Guide various human resource policies implementation.
• Oversee implementation of Public Service code of ethics.
• Implement decisions of the Prisons Human Resource Management Advisory Committee. 
• Oversee Public Communication and photography
• Implement decisions on uniformed staff in respect to appointments, annual performance appraisals, postings, promotions and retirement. 
• Oversee the implementation of the Public Service Commission (K) decisions and directives
• Manage staff records
